While creating social media content can be a stress point for small businesses, most are able to come up with some tried and true posts to fill their feed. It’s great to have a consistent content strategy to keep you on track but it’s also just as important to have some fun every once in a while and show them your sass!

A mini photoshoot is a perfect way to give your brand a marketing boost! It provides fresh inspiring content for your website, blog, social post and you can submit it for earned media placements. The wedding market is ever-growing and the competition is fierce. Anyone can get into the game, throw up a website, and start a Facebook and Instagram page. The difference in the level of success is how well you do it. You have to stand out, be original, and make a statement to get noticed and get business. A styled shoot is a great way to showcase your brand by telling a story through original images. This is the key to separating yourself from the pack.

So everyone freaks out when they hear photoshoot and the dollar signs start dancing in their head. But it doesn’t have to be a huge production. By utilizing your network of industry professionals, you can put together a killer mini shoot. Shoots are fun and everyone who is contributing can benefit from them. Snagging a top-notch photographer can be a bit tough and you may have to shell out some dough for quality pics, but most of the time, photogs enjoy a break from weddings and love the idea of a stress-free day shooting something different.

Here is a look at a shoot I did with Bangz Salon in New Hope, PA shooting hair and makeup trends for the rock and roll bride! What I love about this salon besides the awesome stylists, is the unique and creative decor! This shoot really captures the essence of this edgy boutique. It’s unique, it’s unexpected and it’s sure to get attention!

Once you’ve got great photos, don’t forget to do a little write up about your shoot, and be sure to capture some behind the scenes vids and pics. Your write up is basically a sales pitch you can send out to local blogs and magazines along with the image gallery in hopes of getting some exposure.

“From the custom blow dryer chandelier to the vintage newspaper wall, Bangz Salon is filled with hip details and unique touches!  The team created some show-stopping looks that put an unexpected twist on traditional bridal style. From knotted updo’s to metallic gold and silver foil applications to glitter-encrusted eyebrows and pearl accented lashes, these looks are show stoppers and perfect for the rock and roll bride!”

You should also put together some trend advice and tips to position yourself as an industry expert to post with the images on your blog and social channels. Don’t just post the pics, give them some purpose and tell a story. Inspire, engage, and drive traffic to your website.

Tips For Creating A Rock & Roll Bridal Vibe

  • Pick your statement. If you’re going dramatic on your eyes or adding some glitz to your hair, keep everything else simple.

  • Add some bling to your eyes! We love bold shadow, glitter mascara, pearled lashes, or accented brows.

  • Metallics are the perfect nod to heavy metal. From foil hair details to shimmering metallic toned makeup, it adds that rock and roll edge.
